Is the resurrection important? In 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, Paul speaks of the gospel as being the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. So, yes! the resurrection is important.
Paul continues in that chapter to argue for the resurrection and the importance it is to Christians. The world may scoff, and the Athenians may have dismissed it, but be sure of this: Jesus was raised from the dead to never die and will return one day and all will be resurrected!
An important part of this teaching is how Paul uses it in Romans 6:1-7. He describes our baptism as being in the likeness of Jesus’ resurrection and that because of it was walk”…in newness of life.” While many in the world may dismiss the idea of the resurrection and scorn Christians for believing it, our very decision to become a Christian is founded upon it. The change in our very lives is proof positive that happened. Yes, we believe in resurrection!
